There's good news for Wall Street -- the "occupiers" who have been protesting corporate greed (or whatever it is they're protesting) for the past several months have a new target for their rage: Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
That, of course, is according to the sheriff's bloated ego.
"The 'Occupy Wall Street' movement has turned from a wave of anger towards Wall Street [to a movement] against Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio," the sheriff's PR folks say in a press release that just screams "look at me, look at me!"

As unfocused as the "occupiers" anger may seem, we have a pretty good feeling Joe Arpaio is not the reason thousands of people are camping out in public places all over the country -- despite what the sheriff's ego has to say about it.
Must hurt to not be the center of attention.
Maybe he can ignore some more reports of inmates having easy access to weapons and get a few more killed so he can cost the county more money in legal settlements and judgements.

This sheriff definitely have an overinflated ego. He thinks OWS is all about *him*? Please! It wouldn't be called Occupy *Wall Street* if what he said was the case. (roll eyes)

How's he got time to waste with OWS anyway? Last I heard, he was about to unveil uncontestable evidence that President Obama is not an American citizen /s/.

There is something distinctly pathological about the behavior of Sheriff Joe Arpaio. He's not just a zealot, he's the most dangerous kind you can have on your hands: a megalomaniacal, brutal extremist with a badge, a lust for political power, and a personal sense of divine mission. Were he presented with the 'right' set of propitious circumstances, I don't imagine there are any limits to what Arpaio would do in order to advance his agenda or exercise his authority.
His activities bear continued close scrutiny by the United States Department of Justice. It is quite conceivable that there could be a recurrence of crimes similar to those committed in Neshoba County, Mississippi in 1964, when County Sheriff Lawrence Rainey and Deputy Sheriff Cecil Price, both members of the White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, conspired with other Klan members to murder civil rights workers James Chaney, Andrew Goodman and Michael Schwerner.
There's a hell of a lot of desert country, and a hell of a lot of hatred, in Maricopa County, Arizona.
